.SH DESCRIPTION
The
.BR strdup ()
function returns a pointer to a new string which is a duplicate of the
string \fIstr\fR. Memory for the new string is obtained with
.BR grecs_malloc (3),
and must be freed with
.BR grecs_free (3).

The
.BR grecs_strdup ()
function returns a pointer to the duplicated string.

On error,
.BR grecs_alloc_die (3)
is called, which terminates the program.
